Philosophy of Care

My therapeutic approach is centered around three core concepts:

 
 

TRUST

It takes courage to seek help. Connecting with the right therapist is a cornerstone of healing.

I build trust with my clients by:

Being your advocate. I’ll root for your growth and am committed to supporting you every step of the way.

Communicating empathy. I care deeply about my clients and find great joy in watching them transform, overcome challenges, and become who they want to be.  

Empowering you. I’m passionate about educating clients to meet their own needs when they are not in session.

 

COLLABORATION

There are many different aspects of your life to consider throughout treatment. These include your experiences, culture, values, spirituality, identity, and unique background. 

Working as a team is key to successful therapy. Many clients view their therapist as the "expert." However, you are the expert on your life and what you have been through. Throughout the process, I will invite you to:

Share your perspective of how treatment is progressing.

Give feedback  about what therapeutic approaches and treatment methods you find effective.

Access resources that will be supportive, educational, and empowering.

 

MOMENTUM

Most clients come to therapy feeling stuck. You may feel lost and have doubts about whether therapy will work for you. This is completely normal! To ease this discomfort and make sure that you are moving forward, I will:

Develop a treatment plan for your specific needs and make changes when necessary. 

Encourage you to notice and celebrate when you are improving and meeting your goals. 

Inspire you to believe that there is hope for improving your quality of life.
